As you all know, we do a baby contest every year. We take all the babies from the previous year, post one image from each child and have their friends and families vote for their favorite. The winner receives a $100 gift certificate. This year was a tough race. There were a few that could go all the way, but in the end baby C pulled it off.

Baby C’s mom and dad were one of our wedding couples, so we have known them a few years. We did their engagement session, their wedding photos and have done the family and the baby’s photos a few times. They are always fun to have in the studio and are pretty much up for anything.

Little Man was just about 6 months old, so he was just about able to sit up. For about a second! Mom and dad, along with Ed, were around him in case he fell over.

He is the cutest little guy we have had here in a while! Love that smile. Can’t wait for the cake smash when he turns 1!

Happy New Year! As another year starts, it is already so full of new, different, and exciting things for us! A new studio, a new location, new neighbors, and some new structure for our business.

If you are in the area, stop in to visit us! We’d love to give you a tour! We are planning an Open House to show off the new studio as well. That will be March 4, so mark your calendars!

It’s a little strange for me actually getting up and going to work again. No dogs wrestling at our feet or whining to go outside.

We are loving our neighborhood! Lots of little shops and businesses in the area. Across the street is Why Not Designs, which is owned by our friend Angela. She’s got lots of bling and other cool things to get your ‘girlie fix’. We will be doing some cross promotions with her later this month, so stay tuned!

Due to some trouble with people scheduling, then cancelling or not showing up, we have to put in place a Cancellation Policy. Effective today, session fees are due at the time of booking. If the session is cancelled more than 24 hours before the session time, you will have two days to rebook. If the session is a no show, or is cancelled that day, then the session fee is not refunded. We also now have a minimum purchase of $150 per session.

We have also changed up our Incentive Program! Any returning client will receive their choice of a 10×13 or 11×14! Spend just $300 and receive an accordion book! Spend $600 and receive a group of 3 accordion books! Spend $1000 and receive an 11×14 thin wrap. These are new to our lineup. Stop in and check them out! We also still have our referral programs in place. Refer a friend and you each receive a free sheet with your session. The Senior Rep program has been tweaked, and we think this one is the best one yet! That  has been rolled out on facebook, and I’ll post about it here this week some time.

So many changes, but so many things will stay the same. You will still get the same awesome images that you have in the past. Ed and I will still give you a fun session, with images that you will love for years to come!

With that, I’d also like to say thank you to our kids who helped us get the new place ready in such a short amount of time! We never would have gotten it done without their help! So, thank you Dana, Shelley, Jess and Donnie!

Photobooth that is! Our photobooth has taken a life of it’s own! We’ve been so busy with it that we built a second booth to keep up with the demand.

If you haven’t seen or been in our photobooth, then you must be living under a rock! Seriously, we have have been all over the place with it. Hazelton, Penn’s Peak, Sand Springs, Milford, Montdale Country Club, Nay Aug, Moffat Estate and even my own back yard for my daughter’s graduation party.

This family came to us last year for photos. Actually, we came to them! They are from Jersey, but have a home up here that has been in the family for years. The house sits near a large pond, or small lake, whichever you prefer to call it. When I think lake, I think of the Paupack, so anything smaller than that is a pond. haha

This next image is probably my favorite from the session!

But, this family had such incredible images last time (such a gorgeous family!) that they gave us a call when they were planning their vacation for this year. Since we did the lake last year, let’s do something by the house, Tara said. Sounds good to us. Other than that, she pretty much gave us full reign!

Im not quite sure that the two little girls remembered us from last year, but the older one didn’t shy away, and even followed us along as we scouted out some places to shoot. The lighting was looking really good, so we started with the family in front of the house and then moved around. We made sure to take time out for a “silly break” when the kids were looking bored.

The son loves his tractor, and when they are there for the summer, he rides it around, so we made sure that we had some shots of him on that with mom! Mom even talked her cousin and his boy into jumping into the last shot – the men with their rifles. We went a little more dramatic with that one. 

This family is awesome! Before we left, we were talking about what we can do different for next year. We can’t wait!

This year we started getting calls for senior portraits early. This is great! While we can do a session the day before yearbook images are due, edit that image, and get it to your school to get it in the yearbook, we’d much rather get them done early, before we get busy with Christmas.

Im not quite convinced Cody had senior portraits high on his list of things to do this summer. He seemed a touch nervous at first, but quickly got over that. Turns out, I used to hang out with his two uncles back in the day.

We met him in a parking lot in Honesdale and followed him to this location. There were some pretty cool things up there and it overlooked the town. Cody did great! Im sure he’d love to see me write that his inner model came out! haha

We had fun, and I hope Cody did too!

We were asked to come down to take some shots of pizza for a new website for “Thick & Thin Pizza” in Clarks Summit. They would be making a variety of pizzas for an event at the Abington Park, just a mile away, so even though we had a photobooth booked for that night in Hazelton, that’s the day we decided to go.

Now, you know as well as I do, when you absolutely have to be somewhere or do something is when something decides to go wrong. We had the photobooth packed up in the car, along with all the gear to shoot this job, and we set out on our way. We no sooner got about 4 miles down the road and the Jeep shut off. Luckily, we were only a couple hundred yards from Ed’s house, and it was mostly downhill, so he gave us a big push and down we rolled to his house to check the problem. Turns out the battery was dead, due to a bad alternator. We had my daughter run a battery over to us. Good thing there are spares at my house!

We set up our equipment in the kitchen. Talk about smelling delicious! One after the other, I don’t know which one was the best! We did get a tomato with steak and cheese on it to go, for our ride to Hazelton, and it was amazing!

As for the Jeep, new alternator and she’s as good as new!

We have been wanting to do another water shoot all year. After our heat wave towards the end of May, we decided that maybe the water was warm enough to try it. Now, to find a victim. Oops! I mean model! Emily was all into it, and even went shopping for some new dresses. I decided that I wanted this one to be an early morning shoot. I am NOT a morning person, but I knew it would be worth it for the lighting that we’d get. But, at 5am Emily was at the door and we were off!

We got to the lake and the lighting was just as we thought it would be; nice cool blue tones. Just as we got to the water a snake slithered by in the water! I have been at that lake my whole life and have never ever seen a water snake. Maybe because I’m not up at 5:30!

One thing I completely forgot about, was that the water would be high. It always is in the spring. There was no beach like we were planning on. So, we worked with what we had. Emily climbed up on the rock and worked it.

The sun was quickly coming up, and the snake was probably long gone by now, so it was time to get in the water. We did some shooting in the blue dress, then decided to change to the red one. She was starting to get a little more confident, and really started getting into it as she worked the poses.

We had a lone fisherman trolling around in the background. I think he was trying to figure out what the heck was going on!  In no time, we were finished and left him to his fish. I think Emily did an awesome job!

These two guys came to visit us last week. Two of the sweetest puppies. ( I call all dogs puppies, no matter how old they are) Boo is 14 years old, but still gets around pretty good for an old dog! He is missing part of an ear thanks to a fight with a possum.

Mo is the young guy. He’s only 7 months. He looks like he’s part Pit Bull, but what a baby. He made sure he was right next to mommy the whole time.

Once we got the two of them calmed down, they posed nicely for us!

This one is probably my favorite one from the session!

As many of you know, my daughter plays soccer. North Pocono plays in the Spring. This season was bad, weather wise. So many rescheduled games due to rain. Due to that, we ended up having all of our games pushed into a 3 week period to get them all in before the playoffs started. The team came around and the girls played like a team. They really did well. This was the first time since 1998 that they went past the first round of playoffs, and Jess even had a spot on the sports section of the news scoring a goal.

We had 6 girls make All Stars this year ( I hope I get this right) 1st team All Stars went to Corinne Glassman, Alyssa Hamill, and my daughter, Jess. Jess was also voted MVP.  2nd team All-Stars went to Fjollza Shabani, Sarah Wicker and Chelsea Kincel. Awesome job girls! I will miss watching you play next year. I will try to make a game or two to take some shots for you, but I won’t be there if it’s a monsoon like the last couple games you played!

These are some of the shots from this season. I can’t even say they are all of my favorites because there were so many that I loved!

I’ve known Dani for a few years. She plays soccer with my daughter. Over the winter, when we aren’t as busy, we like to bring in some people to model, just so we can try different lighting, poses, techniques, etc. It ended up being pretty cold the day we scheduled for Dani. We stuck to some downtown Scranton buildings to use for backdrops. We had fun driving around while we tried to warm up in between shots.

I think Dani did a great job! Her inner model came out and she started getting into it!
