Little Camper

I was so bad at keeping up with our blog last year, but I wanted to share some of our favorite sessions. Mom called me to schedule M’s birthday session. Every year we do a session that is all about her playing, just being her. We then design a book for mom. They are like a yearly progression of M’s life. Each year there are new toys, or new activities, depending on what she is into that year. This year I wanted to try a tent. So, I made a patchwork tent. Mom took the idea and ran with it! We started with a little fishing expedition to the pond. Such a little actress! No hook on the end, but she was pulling like there was a big old fish on the line!

Next, we went back to the ‘camp’ and had her build a fire! Mom had gathered stones and sticks and an old lantern to add to the set.

Little brother usually gets in on the act at some point during her session. Roasting marshmallows seemed to be the perfect time to add him.

Even mom and gram got in on a few marshmallow photos.

It was such a fun session and it is truly an honor to be able to document a child’s life like this. We really do love our clients, and think of them as part of the family.

The Lake House

This family came to us last year for photos. Actually, we came to them! They are from Jersey, but have a home up here that has been in the family for years. The house sits near a large pond, or small lake, whichever you prefer to call it. When I think lake, I think of the Paupack, so anything smaller than that is a pond. haha

This next image is probably my favorite from the session!

But, this family had such incredible images last time (such a gorgeous family!) that they gave us a call when they were planning their vacation for this year. Since we did the lake last year, let’s do something by the house, Tara said. Sounds good to us. Other than that, she pretty much gave us full reign!

Im not quite sure that the two little girls remembered us from last year, but the older one didn’t shy away, and even followed us along as we scouted out some places to shoot. The lighting was looking really good, so we started with the family in front of the house and then moved around. We made sure to take time out for a “silly break” when the kids were looking bored.

The son loves his tractor, and when they are there for the summer, he rides it around, so we made sure that we had some shots of him on that with mom! Mom even talked her cousin and his boy into jumping into the last shot – the men with their rifles. We went a little more dramatic with that one.

This family is awesome! Before we left, we were talking about what we can do different for next year. We can’t wait!

Senior Class of 2012

This year we started getting calls for senior portraits early. This is great! While we can do a session the day before yearbook images are due, edit that image, and get it to your school to get it in the yearbook, we’d much rather get them done early, before we get busy with Christmas.

Im not quite convinced Cody had senior portraits high on his list of things to do this summer. He seemed a touch nervous at first, but quickly got over that. Turns out, I used to hang out with his two uncles back in the day.

We met him in a parking lot in Honesdale and followed him to this location. There were some pretty cool things up there and it overlooked the town. Cody did great! Im sure he’d love to see me write that his inner model came out! haha

We had fun, and I hope Cody did too!

Early to Rise

We have been wanting to do another water shoot all year. After our heat wave towards the end of May, we decided that maybe the water was warm enough to try it. Now, to find a victim. Oops! I mean model! Emily was all into it, and even went shopping for some new dresses. I decided that I wanted this one to be an early morning shoot. I am NOT a morning person, but I knew it would be worth it for the lighting that we’d get. But, at 5am Emily was at the door and we were off!

We got to the lake and the lighting was just as we thought it would be; nice cool blue tones. Just as we got to the water a snake slithered by in the water! I have been at that lake my whole life and have never ever seen a water snake. Maybe because I’m not up at 5:30! :)

One thing I completely forgot about, was that the water would be high. It always is in the spring. There was no beach like we were planning on. So, we worked with what we had. Emily climbed up on the rock and worked it.

The sun was quickly coming up, and the snake was probably long gone by now, so it was time to get in the water. We did some shooting in the blue dress, then decided to change to the red one. She was starting to get a little more confident, and really started getting into it as she worked the poses.

We had a lone fisherman trolling around in the background. I think he was trying to figure out what the heck was going on!  In no time, we were finished and left him to his fish. I think Emily did an awesome job!

Graduation Announcements are Here!!

Its that time of the year again. Graduation time! This year is especially sentimental for me. My oldest is part of the class of 2011, and the end of the year is coming fast.

I recently designed some graduation announcement cards. All of our cards are available in many different shapes, sizes, and paper finishes; which can be seen on our website. If you don’t like what you see in this gallery, we can design something specifically to you.

If you order cards by the end of May, you also receive 10% off a print order. This is a great way to get those extra wallets that you’ve been meaning to re-order!

Senior Rep Application is Now Posted

senior photo 3senior photo 4
We are currently looking for 2012 graduates to be our Senior Representatives. We have been using our Senior Rep program to help get our name out there, and it has been working well for us. We have changed our program a little bit this year, and are excited to get it rolling.
What is the Senior Rep Program?
In short, the Senior Reps are our company’s representatives. We use their photos for advertising. We also rely on them to help promote us. In exchange for their hard work, they receive FREE products and discounts on their session.

How Do I Apply?
Simply fill out an application. The application can be found on our website We will review all applications, and choose the people that we feel would best represent our company. We do not accept everyone that applies, so be sure to fill out your application early. Deadline for applying is May 31.

What is Required of Me if I Become a Rep?
We start off with your free photo shoot. This will be done early, to give time to get you your promotional material to hand out. This shoot includes hair and makeup. We have a lot of great locations, and are really working hard to step up our game this year, so be prepared to rock your session! After your session, we will post your images on facebook, and tag you in these images. You share these images on your page with your friends, letting them know how much fun you had on your shoot. The goal is to have all of your friends become a fan of Your Pixel Perfect, and come to us for their senior photos. You must also come back to us for your senior shoot.

How Much Does it Cost?
Becoming a Rep is free! You spread our name and we reward you! Every senior who comes in with one of your Rep Cards will receive free wallets. For the first referral, you will receive ½ off your senior session. For every referral after that, you will receive $50 in print credits towards your prints! Send us just 5 referrals and receive a free Rock the Frock session for you and those 5 friends as a group session! We also throw in some other freebies, t-shirts and other promotional products. At the end of the year, we total up our referrals. The Rep that sent us the most referrals throughout the school year will win their choice of one of 4 prizes; a Kindle, a netbook, a digital camera, or a $200 Visa card.

Tarah

This is Tarah. She is a senior at NP this year. She’s one of my daughter’s friends; one that I’ve known since she was young. It’s been fun this year doing photos for all these kids that I remember as little ones running up and down the soccer field, or across the basketball court.

When Tarah got here, she just wanted to get her shots and get done.

But soon, our goofing off loosened her up a little. We made her do some Top Model poses, which of course, made her feel silly. We promised her that we wouldn’t post them, but it did get her laughing, which gave us the chance to get some great images.

Outdoors it was nice and overcast. There was no way we could pass that up, so we headed outdoors! With her blonde hair and fair skin against the snow, I knew it would make for some awesome shots.

Good luck to Tarah as she goes on to study pre-med. I know she will do great! You can see a few more of Tarah’s images on our facebook site.

Arabesque Academy of Dancing

Most of May found us at the Arabesque Academy of Dancing. We were there to shoot candids of the kids as they had dance class. We also came in to do their class and individual photos. Then, we went to the recital to get some candids there as well.

We love coming into this studio. There is a great group of kids here. We love getting to know them and seeing all of their hard work pay off in the end.

This year, we went a different way with some of the group photos. The instructor’s group decided to move outside. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this shot! Thanks Amy and all the kids for having us! We can’t wait to do it again!

In an attempt to catch up on all of my blogging that I haven’t done for two months, I’ll introduce you to Little Man M. His aunt brought him for an outdoor fall session as a Christmas present for his mom.

Look at the eyes on this guy! He was such a ham too as you can see! e was a little shy when he got here, but soon warmed up to us and was having a blast.

Here are a few of my favorites from his session;
