Spencer – Class of 2013

Spencer was one of the last seniors of 2013 to call us. We booked him for Sunday morning. I was hoping that the sun wasn’t too bright, reflecting off the snow. We ended up with fog instead. Lots of fog, which made for a more dramatic image.

We also snuck inside for a few shots…

Soccer Season

As many of you know, my daughter plays soccer. North Pocono plays in the Spring. This season was bad, weather wise. So many rescheduled games due to rain. Due to that, we ended up having all of our games pushed into a 3 week period to get them all in before the playoffs started. The team came around and the girls played like a team. They really did well. This was the first time since 1998 that they went past the first round of playoffs, and Jess even had a spot on the sports section of the news scoring a goal.

We had 6 girls make All Stars this year ( I hope I get this right) 1st team All Stars went to Corinne Glassman, Alyssa Hamill, and my daughter, Jess. Jess was also voted MVP.  2nd team All-Stars went to Fjollza Shabani, Sarah Wicker and Chelsea Kincel. Awesome job girls! I will miss watching you play next year. I will try to make a game or two to take some shots for you, but I won’t be there if it’s a monsoon like the last couple games you played! :)

These are some of the shots from this season. I can’t even say they are all of my favorites because there were so many that I loved!

Is it Snowing?? No, I’m Just Really Far Behind!

It’s so easy for me to upload sessions to facebook, to give a sneak peek, or to upload what has been ordered. It takes more time to do a blog post. I have to write the story that goes along with it. I’m not a writer, so I guess I kind of put it off a little bit. Then I get to the place where I am now. WAY behind!

This is Cathy. She is a senior this year, and was one of the last ones to come in for senior photos. She was a blast to do! Cathy is up for anything! The last  image is the one that she chose for the yearbook…SO Cathy!

Graduation Announcements are Here!!

Its that time of the year again. Graduation time! This year is especially sentimental for me. My oldest is part of the class of 2011, and the end of the year is coming fast.

I recently designed some graduation announcement cards. All of our cards are available in many different shapes, sizes, and paper finishes; which can be seen on our website. If you don’t like what you see in this gallery, we can design something specifically to you.

If you order cards by the end of May, you also receive 10% off a print order. This is a great way to get those extra wallets that you’ve been meaning to re-order!

Tarah

This is Tarah. She is a senior at NP this year. She’s one of my daughter’s friends; one that I’ve known since she was young. It’s been fun this year doing photos for all these kids that I remember as little ones running up and down the soccer field, or across the basketball court.

When Tarah got here, she just wanted to get her shots and get done.

But soon, our goofing off loosened her up a little. We made her do some Top Model poses, which of course, made her feel silly. We promised her that we wouldn’t post them, but it did get her laughing, which gave us the chance to get some great images.

Outdoors it was nice and overcast. There was no way we could pass that up, so we headed outdoors! With her blonde hair and fair skin against the snow, I knew it would make for some awesome shots.

Good luck to Tarah as she goes on to study pre-med. I know she will do great! You can see a few more of Tarah’s images on our facebook site.

The Christmas Show

Back in December we had the privilage of shooting the Christmas Show for Arabesque Academy of Dancing. We really love doing these recitals. I get to go behind the curtain. I love the kids’ nervousness back stage. I love watching all their hard work come together, and their faces as they come off. They all whisper encouragement to the other kids that are getting ready to go on.

Every year Amy puts on a better show than the one before it, and this was no exception. This year, the show had a new addition; kids from the new acting class. This added a whole new dimension to the show.

I can’t wait for the spring show to see what Amy is cooking up next!

2011 Senior Reps

As you may know, we do things a little differently around here when it comes to seniors. We have Senior Reps. Simply explained, these kids represent our studio. They come to us in the spring of their Junior year. We do a free mini shoot with them so we can get images to use for marketing. We then make business cards with the Rep’s image on them. They pass these cards out to their friends. For every card that comes back to us, the Rep receives a $10 Visa card. The person who redeemed the card will receive 16 free wallets. As the reps send us more seniors, they earn different prizes along the way. At the end of the school year, we add up all of the referrals. The Rep that sent us the most, will win a $200 Visa card! This is our way of thanking them for helping us to get our name out there.

Here are a some of this years reps. If you know them, be sure to get a card from them so you can get your free wallets!

NP vs Prep

Session 2 started at Riverfront yesterday. We did not make it to Fc’s game, but we did get there in time to see the girls from North Pocono play Prep. It was a tough game, and the girls played well. They managed to come out of it with a tie.

Nickelodeon comes to Town!

This weekend we will be doing production stills for a web series for Nickelodeon! A production company, Small Media Extra Large will be filming their web series, “Exit Strategy”, a story about a girl who lives in a funeral home.

Part of the filming will be done at Snowdon Funeral Home, and part at the North Pocono High School.

They are looking for extras, so if you know anyone who is 18, 19, 20ish; or older but looks like a high school student, please give them our name and I’ll give them the info. We’ll post some photos as we get them.
