Valentine’s Day Boudoir Sessions

For Valentine’s Day we ran a promo with KRZ’s Rocky and Lissa. We gave them two boudoir sessions to give away on the air. They made up games each day for the listeners to call in for a chance to win. The winner from that day was entered into the drawing at the end of the week. On Friday they picked the winner.

The two girls who came in were a little shy at first, but once they got into it, they loosened right up. We always start the session with makeup, and Monica always does such a great job at relaxing everyone for us. By the time they get to us, they are already joking around and having fun.

As you know, we do NOT post client’s images without their permission. With that being said, I am sharing some images from one winner, but not the other, for that very reason.

Little M

fun children's photos

This little guy has been coming to us since he was born. Every year we do his birthday photos as well as his Christmas photos with his older sister. His mom and I discuss briefly what the theme of the portraits will be. Mom isn’t much into the traditional, sit and pose formally images. She usually brings some kind of toys for the kids to play with and we just document that. These images will be her children, as she remembers them playing.

This year M turned 4. You may not think so, but 4 is so much older than 3. He is talking so much more. Telling us stories, and asking us to play with his diggers and dump trucks. Are you having fun? “totally” is his reply. haha

Mom always gets a book of the session. Not only are books a great way to get all or most of the images from your session, but it’s almost a yearbook of your child. You can look through each book and see the progression to toddler-hood to tween to teen to young adult. The books are the memories the children will have long after we are all gone. I am so honored to be a part of this family’s life and get to document the children growing up.

Valentine’s Day Mini Sessions

February 14th is Valentine’s Day. Who didn’t love the Valentine’s Day parties at school? You would make your little valentine holder and decorate it. Then you would walk around the room and deliver your valentines to the class. There was always a party, with cupcakes and cookies and other goodies. Party days at school were always the best! After you received all of your valentines, you would look though them all to see what you got. You would look to see who had the coolest valentines. Some were hand made, some were duplicates of others. Some had cool, popular characters from current movies. We think our valentines would qualify for the ‘cool’ pile. How can they not? They would star your child!

valentine's day promoJanuary 26 we are having a mini sessions day. The theme will be Valentine’s Day. These are quick little sessions. No session fees. For $75 you will receive 5-10 images to view, 1-8×10 for you, 2-5x7s, perfect for grandparents, and 24 wallets, great to hand out to the class for valentines! Wallets can be personalized, so the other students can be sure to remember your child! You will also receive 10% off any other prints purchased that day.

We do expect these sessions to book, so please call early to book your session. $75 is due at the time of booking.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Baby C

As you all know, we do a baby contest every year. We take all the babies from the previous year, post one image from each child and have their friends and families vote for their favorite. The winner receives a $100 gift certificate. This year was a tough race. There were a few that could go all the way, but in the end baby C pulled it off.

Baby C’s mom and dad were one of our wedding couples, so we have known them a few years. We did their engagement session, their wedding photos and have done the family and the baby’s photos a few times. They are always fun to have in the studio and are pretty much up for anything.

Little Man was just about 6 months old, so he was just about able to sit up. For about a second! Mom and dad, along with Ed, were around him in case he fell over.

He is the cutest little guy we have had here in a while! Love that smile. Can’t wait for the cake smash when he turns 1!

The Lake House

This family came to us last year for photos. Actually, we came to them! They are from Jersey, but have a home up here that has been in the family for years. The house sits near a large pond, or small lake, whichever you prefer to call it. When I think lake, I think of the Paupack, so anything smaller than that is a pond. haha

This next image is probably my favorite from the session!

But, this family had such incredible images last time (such a gorgeous family!) that they gave us a call when they were planning their vacation for this year. Since we did the lake last year, let’s do something by the house, Tara said. Sounds good to us. Other than that, she pretty much gave us full reign!

Im not quite sure that the two little girls remembered us from last year, but the older one didn’t shy away, and even followed us along as we scouted out some places to shoot. The lighting was looking really good, so we started with the family in front of the house and then moved around. We made sure to take time out for a “silly break” when the kids were looking bored.

The son loves his tractor, and when they are there for the summer, he rides it around, so we made sure that we had some shots of him on that with mom! Mom even talked her cousin and his boy into jumping into the last shot – the men with their rifles. We went a little more dramatic with that one.

This family is awesome! Before we left, we were talking about what we can do different for next year. We can’t wait!

Senior Class of 2012

This year we started getting calls for senior portraits early. This is great! While we can do a session the day before yearbook images are due, edit that image, and get it to your school to get it in the yearbook, we’d much rather get them done early, before we get busy with Christmas.

Im not quite convinced Cody had senior portraits high on his list of things to do this summer. He seemed a touch nervous at first, but quickly got over that. Turns out, I used to hang out with his two uncles back in the day.

We met him in a parking lot in Honesdale and followed him to this location. There were some pretty cool things up there and it overlooked the town. Cody did great! Im sure he’d love to see me write that his inner model came out! haha

We had fun, and I hope Cody did too!

Early to Rise

We have been wanting to do another water shoot all year. After our heat wave towards the end of May, we decided that maybe the water was warm enough to try it. Now, to find a victim. Oops! I mean model! Emily was all into it, and even went shopping for some new dresses. I decided that I wanted this one to be an early morning shoot. I am NOT a morning person, but I knew it would be worth it for the lighting that we’d get. But, at 5am Emily was at the door and we were off!

We got to the lake and the lighting was just as we thought it would be; nice cool blue tones. Just as we got to the water a snake slithered by in the water! I have been at that lake my whole life and have never ever seen a water snake. Maybe because I’m not up at 5:30! :)

One thing I completely forgot about, was that the water would be high. It always is in the spring. There was no beach like we were planning on. So, we worked with what we had. Emily climbed up on the rock and worked it.

The sun was quickly coming up, and the snake was probably long gone by now, so it was time to get in the water. We did some shooting in the blue dress, then decided to change to the red one. She was starting to get a little more confident, and really started getting into it as she worked the poses.

We had a lone fisherman trolling around in the background. I think he was trying to figure out what the heck was going on!  In no time, we were finished and left him to his fish. I think Emily did an awesome job!

A Different Kind of Mother’s Day Photo

Lynsey came to us for some Mother’s Day photos. She wanted something different. You know us; we don’t like to be the same as everyone else. Luckily we had just gotten in our new backdrops and were anxious to try them out! The feedback that we got on them has been good, so we will probably be getting more from these manufaturers.

Lynsey brought some of her son’s favorite toys, along with a hat. This is something we encourage with kid’s shoots. Bring things that they love or are familiar with. This will help them to feel more comfortable durring the shoot.

We really enjoyed working with them and hope to see them again! Here are a few of our favorites from the shoot! Let us know what you think.

senior photo 3senior photo 4
We are currently looking for 2012 graduates to be our Senior Representatives. We have been using our Senior Rep program to help get our name out there, and it has been working well for us. We have changed our program a little bit this year, and are excited to get it rolling.
What is the Senior Rep Program?
In short, the Senior Reps are our company’s representatives. We use their photos for advertising. We also rely on them to help promote us. In exchange for their hard work, they receive FREE products and discounts on their session.

How Do I Apply?
Simply fill out an application. The application can be found on our website We will review all applications, and choose the people that we feel would best represent our company. We do not accept everyone that applies, so be sure to fill out your application early. Deadline for applying is May 31.

What is Required of Me if I Become a Rep?
We start off with your free photo shoot. This will be done early, to give time to get you your promotional material to hand out. This shoot includes hair and makeup. We have a lot of great locations, and are really working hard to step up our game this year, so be prepared to rock your session! After your session, we will post your images on facebook, and tag you in these images. You share these images on your page with your friends, letting them know how much fun you had on your shoot. The goal is to have all of your friends become a fan of Your Pixel Perfect, and come to us for their senior photos. You must also come back to us for your senior shoot.

How Much Does it Cost?
Becoming a Rep is free! You spread our name and we reward you! Every senior who comes in with one of your Rep Cards will receive free wallets. For the first referral, you will receive ½ off your senior session. For every referral after that, you will receive $50 in print credits towards your prints! Send us just 5 referrals and receive a free Rock the Frock session for you and those 5 friends as a group session! We also throw in some other freebies, t-shirts and other promotional products. At the end of the year, we total up our referrals. The Rep that sent us the most referrals throughout the school year will win their choice of one of 4 prizes; a Kindle, a netbook, a digital camera, or a $200 Visa card.

Liz – Dance Portraits

Once in a while we decide that we need to do some fun shooting. Something just for us. Sometimes it’s to help us learn a new lighting technique that we’ve found. Or sometimes it’s for a new prop or set that we aquired. But, sometimes, it’s something just for us; something to help us get some of the creative juices flowing.

Ed had been itching to do some masquerade images. He didn’t know what exactly he wanted to do, but he bought a box full of them. Next, we needed some models, so we put out a casting call to some of the girls from Arabesque. We work with these girls quite a bit at the dance studio, so we know them enomodeling for us!ugh to know which ones would be well suited for what we need.

Liz was our first volunteer. She was an instructor at Arabesqe, but is now the owner of Love to Dance Consignment. We loosened her up first by having her do some leaps in the clover out in the field. We then decided to take her out to the corn field to do some “scarecrow” poses. We backed the Jeep right into the corn and had her stand on the roof. The images turned out awesome! Thanks Liz, for volunteering! You did awesome!
