Baby P

It’s not real often that we get newborn babies. When we do, we like them within the first two weeks. Very newborn babies are easier to mold and usually aren’t peeling yet. We also like them to be nice and sleepy. Drunk on formula. Babies this young cannot focus yet and are usually pretty cross-eyed.

For newborn sessions, we take our time. The baby is in charge. If he/she wants to eat, we stop. If he/she needs a clean diaper, we stop.

This little guy just did not want to sleep, no matter how hard we tried. I love shooting newborns. They require a lot of patience, something I don’t usually have.

Often shots like the one below are requested. This is a composite shot. That means that it is two or more images merged as one. Mom and dad’s hands are erased out of the image. It is done this way for the safety of the baby.

Puppy love

We spent the morning with this sweet girl.

#pet #Photos #Dog #Pictures

Our friend Shannon, from Shannon’s Pet Grooming, takes in foster dogs. This sweet Boxer, Tess, was brought back to the rescue through no fault of her own. She is an older dog, and partially deaf, but it does not seem to bother her. She is housebroken and loves affection!

#Boxer #dog #Pet #Photos #pictures #Boxer #dog #Pet #Photos #pictures #Boxer #dog #Pet #Photos #picturesTess is very easygoing and moved back and forth between Shannon, Ed so we could all take turns petting her. She laid down and fell asleep while Shannon stayed to chit chat with us. She is a snorer! haha

Double Trouble – Christmas photos

The Smith kids have been coming to us for a few years now.

Christmas Photos

We never know what is in store for us when they come. What usually starts out as traditional images quickly turns to something else not too far into the session.

We always have a lot of comments and replies on our facebook page when these two come to see us. They were the reason we needed an outtakes folder. We hope they come back for many more sessions!

Monteagudo Family – Winter Photos

We have been photographing this family since mom and dad’s engagement photos. This session wasn’t Christmas specific, but little Miss was loving our Frosty, so we had to break out the snow scene.

I can’t believe how big she has gotten already! I love that we get to see so many kids grow up. I’m truly honored to be able to document all of the important milestones in a family’s life.

Lamberson Family

The Saturday after Christmas I got a text from our friend Angela from . Her friend Tatiana wanted to book a session. Her brother was in from boot camp, and was going back on Monday. It was a last minute decision to get the family’s photo done. Would we be able to do it? Absolutely! We went in the next day.

This family was so much fun! We all joked around during the shoot. Once we got what we needed, we gave them a challenge. Every time the flash goes off, you have 5 seconds to find a new pose.
This led to a lot of silliness and laughing. These ended up being some of their favorite images. We ended up making collages with these.

Thank you to the Lamberson family for being so cool! And thank you Angela for the referral!

2012~ Bring It On!

Happy New Year! As another year starts, it is already so full of new, different, and exciting things for us! A new studio, a new location, new neighbors, and some new structure for our business.

If you are in the area, stop in to visit us! We’d love to give you a tour! We are planning an Open House to show off the new studio as well. That will be March 4, so mark your calendars!

It’s a little strange for me actually getting up and going to work again. No dogs wrestling at our feet or whining to go outside.

We are loving our neighborhood! Lots of little shops and businesses in the area. Across the street is Why Not Designs, which is owned by our friend Angela. She’s got lots of bling and other cool things to get your ‘girlie fix’. We will be doing some cross promotions with her later this month, so stay tuned!

Due to some trouble with people scheduling, then cancelling or not showing up, we have to put in place a Cancellation Policy. Effective today, session fees are due at the time of booking. If the session is cancelled more than 24 hours before the session time, you will have two days to rebook. If the session is a no show, or is cancelled that day, then the session fee is not refunded. We also now have a minimum purchase of $150 per session.

We have also changed up our Incentive Program! Any returning client will receive their choice of a 10×13 or 11×14! Spend just $300 and receive an accordion book! Spend $600 and receive a group of 3 accordion books! Spend $1000 and receive an 11×14 thin wrap. These are new to our lineup. Stop in and check them out! We also still have our referral programs in place. Refer a friend and you each receive a free sheet with your session. The Senior Rep program has been tweaked, and we think this one is the best one yet! That  has been rolled out on facebook, and I’ll post about it here this week some time.

So many changes, but so many things will stay the same. You will still get the same awesome images that you have in the past. Ed and I will still give you a fun session, with images that you will love for years to come!

With that, I’d also like to say thank you to our kids who helped us get the new place ready in such a short amount of time! We never would have gotten it done without their help! So, thank you Dana, Shelley, Jess and Donnie!

Early to Rise

We have been wanting to do another water shoot all year. After our heat wave towards the end of May, we decided that maybe the water was warm enough to try it. Now, to find a victim. Oops! I mean model! Emily was all into it, and even went shopping for some new dresses. I decided that I wanted this one to be an early morning shoot. I am NOT a morning person, but I knew it would be worth it for the lighting that we’d get. But, at 5am Emily was at the door and we were off!

We got to the lake and the lighting was just as we thought it would be; nice cool blue tones. Just as we got to the water a snake slithered by in the water! I have been at that lake my whole life and have never ever seen a water snake. Maybe because I’m not up at 5:30! :)

One thing I completely forgot about, was that the water would be high. It always is in the spring. There was no beach like we were planning on. So, we worked with what we had. Emily climbed up on the rock and worked it.

The sun was quickly coming up, and the snake was probably long gone by now, so it was time to get in the water. We did some shooting in the blue dress, then decided to change to the red one. She was starting to get a little more confident, and really started getting into it as she worked the poses.

We had a lone fisherman trolling around in the background. I think he was trying to figure out what the heck was going on!  In no time, we were finished and left him to his fish. I think Emily did an awesome job!

Dani

I’ve known Dani for a few years. She plays soccer with my daughter. Over the winter, when we aren’t as busy, we like to bring in some people to model, just so we can try different lighting, poses, techniques, etc. It ended up being pretty cold the day we scheduled for Dani. We stuck to some downtown Scranton buildings to use for backdrops. We had fun driving around while we tried to warm up in between shots.

I think Dani did a great job! Her inner model came out and she started getting into it!

Is it Snowing?? No, I’m Just Really Far Behind!

It’s so easy for me to upload sessions to facebook, to give a sneak peek, or to upload what has been ordered. It takes more time to do a blog post. I have to write the story that goes along with it. I’m not a writer, so I guess I kind of put it off a little bit. Then I get to the place where I am now. WAY behind!

This is Cathy. She is a senior this year, and was one of the last ones to come in for senior photos. She was a blast to do! Cathy is up for anything! The last  image is the one that she chose for the yearbook…SO Cathy!

Graduation Announcements are Here!!

Its that time of the year again. Graduation time! This year is especially sentimental for me. My oldest is part of the class of 2011, and the end of the year is coming fast.

I recently designed some graduation announcement cards. All of our cards are available in many different shapes, sizes, and paper finishes; which can be seen on our website. If you don’t like what you see in this gallery, we can design something specifically to you.

If you order cards by the end of May, you also receive 10% off a print order. This is a great way to get those extra wallets that you’ve been meaning to re-order!
