Frequently Asked Questions

Wedding Photography

Top of Page

Q:

Why don't you post your wedding packages and prices?

A:

We don't want you to price shop. We want you to come in for a consultation to see our work and meet us. You need to meet the photographer you choose for your wedding, because if you don't like them then it's going to be a long day for you. We know you will not find a better price for what you get in the collections and the service you will get with us. Our lowest package starts at $1949 for 4 hours of coverage. Each package comes with two photographers, as well as all your proofs printed as 4x6s in a custom designed box, print credits based on which collection you choose. Engagement session is also included.

Q:

Can I add more hours or products to a collection?

A:

Yes! We will stay all day if you'd like us to! We also have quite a few add-ons, so you can choose a collection that we have already put together, or you can build your own!

Q:

Why should I choose you to be my photographer?

A:

We feel that our style and our personal service sets us apart from other photographers. The way we shoot is different from anyone else. It's even different from each other. But, the blend of the two, and the way we work together, allows us to get some killer shots. We are both trained professionals. We are not one photographer and an assistant. On occasions, we may bring assistants with us. They are in training, and will take some shots, but are in no way relied on to get THE shot. We love weddings. We love the excitement of them, the fast pace of them. We have a relaxed shooting style, which helps to put you and your wedding party at ease, so we can get the images we need and let you get on with your day!

Sandi spent years working at a country inn, and has been involved with a lot of weddings from that aspect. At some of the weddings we've done she has helped bustle gowns, help decorate the reception site, help the couple figure out how to cut the cake, pin boutonnieres, tied shoes, transported bridesmaids, and even pilled pins out of her own hair to give to a bridesmaid who's hair was falling!

Ed works with the groom and his party. He helps to calm the groom, even if there is a parade marching down the street in front of the church 20 minutes before the ceremony! He gets his shots quickly to let the men get on with their celebrating, so they have time to relax before the ceremony. He is in position, at the church, waiting for the bride, when Sandi and the girls get there.

Q:

Do you come to the rehearsal?

A:

Yes! We like to go to the rehearsal, because it helps us to get a general idea of what is going to happen the day of the wedding. We know that there are surprises, and sometimes we need to go with the flow, but if at least one of us is at the rehearsal, we are familiar with the surroundings, and the lighting situation. We will also talk to the officiate see if there are lighting restrictions.

Q:

Do you travel?

A:

Yes! We love to travel! If you are planning a wedding in Las Vegas, we'd love to be there. We promise we won't gamble our equipment away until after the wedding! Seriously, we do love to travel, and have traveled to NY, and southern Pa to shoot weddings. We don't charge for anything under 90 miles. Over that, we do charge, but it's only to cover our expenses while we are traveling. So, if you are planning a destination engagement, wedding, or even if you are looking for a honeymoon photographer, we are your photographers! Especially if it's Las Vegas!

Q:

Can we get a CD with all of our images on it?

A:

Yes! We have options for you to get your medium resolution files, which will print to 8x10s, or web sized file, which is great for sharing with friends and family. They can also be used for scrapbooking.

Q:

When should we plan our engagement session?

A:

That depends on what you are looking for. Some couples only want the traditional studio session. Those can be shot anytime. We like to go out and have fun for the engagement session. This allows us to spend time with you. We all get to know each other. We learn what you like. We can help you with posing to make you look your best. You can use these tips for your big day. We want your engagement session to be all about you, and your love for each other. It can be at a park, a library, a ball field, or "your spot". These images can be made into a guest book for your wedding day, or incorporated into matted print, save the date cards, invitations and other items.

Q:

So, I really like your portfolio and I really like what I've seen so far on your website. Now what?

A:

Give us a call or shoot us an email! We will set up an appointment for you to come in to look at the rest of our work. We will get to know each other, to see if we are a good fit for you.

Q:

This really seems expensive. Can we afford it?

A:

If photography is not something that you value, then it will seem expensive. So, ask yourself if you simply want someone to snap some pictures, or if you really want your images to stand out, and tell the story of your day in a way that helps you re-live the day, like it's happening again in front of you.

If you just want someone to take what they can get, and it really won't bother you if they are blurry, underexposed or she has technical difficulties, then you might be ok with your friend's sister's friend taking your photos.

If you truly value photography, it should be one of the larger expenses for your day. The cake will be eaten. The gown will be cleaned and put away. Just as you value these things, shouldn't you value your photography? Your images will be the one thing that you keep going back to, to show friends and family 20 years from now.

Q:

Do you have liability insurance?

A:

Yes! Insurance is one of the first things we invested in as business owners.

Q:

What happens if your camera breaks during the wedding?

A:

We reach into our bag an pull out another one. We have a back up for every piece of equipment we own.

Q:

So, I really like your style and your portfolio. Now what do I do?

A:

Give us a call at (570) 877-2829 or send us an email at customerservice@yourpixelperfect.com! We will set up an appointment for you to come look at our work. We can talk about your needs and the options available. Feel free to bring your parents along as well!

Q:

Do you take credit cards or have a payment plan?

A:

Yes! We accept all major credit cards. We require $500 down to hold the date. This is a non-refundable retainer. We can then set you up with a payment plan. Balance is due 7 days before your event. We can also set up a bridal registry for you, that will allow your friends and family to give you a gift you really want for your shower.

High School Senior Pictures / Portraits

Q:

How many clothing changes do I get?

A:

We don't limit your changes, how ever we recommend no more than four. Remember, your session is only 90 minutes long, so the more time you spend in the dressing room is less time you spend in front of the camera.

Q:

How many proofs do I get?

A:

From a 90 minute session, we usually proof between 50 and 60 proofs, with quite a selection of different poses to choose from.

Q:

What kind of images do you specialize in?

A:

We love to do outdoor location shoots. We don't want your images to be like everyone else's at school. We like to do a mixture of glamour, fashion and fun. We let you be part of the creation, so the images show YOU!

Q:

Do you supply my yearbook photo?

A:

Yes! If your school is not contracted with someone to supply them, we will contact your school and give them the file or the wallet, depending on what they need. It is up to you to contact the yearbook advisor and find out the deadline to submit images.

Q:

My school is contracted with another photographer for yearbook photos. Can I still use you?

A:

Yes! Even if the contracted photographer takes multiple shots of you, you do not have to purchase them! You can choose whoever you want to take the photos that you want to give out to your friends and family.

Q:

When should I schedule my senior pictures?

A:

Most senior portraits are taken in the summer between your junior and senior year. Another popular time is the fall, when the leaves are all in color. Remember, the sun is the harshest in the middle of the day. If you want an outdoor session, early morning, or later afternoon to just before sundown are the best times to schedule. You may also want to consider a night time shoot, or a water shoot.

Q:

Do my parents have to come with me when I get my photos taken?

A:

No. They are welcome, but do not have to accompany you. You may instead bring a friend, if that will make you feel more relaxed. We like to limit the amount of people who come with you, so you are relaxed and not distracted.

Q:

What should I bring with me to my appointment?

A:

Feel free to bring whatever you want that helps you express who you are. Sports equipment, cars, pets, shoes, we've seen it all, and will help you incorporate it into your session.

Q:

What is included in your sitting fee?

A:

Our sitting fee is our creative time at the shoot, and after the session. We spend time editing each proof, removing acne and flyaway hairs, and designing items that incorporate your images the best.

Q:

Can I get my makeup or hair professionally done?

A:

Yes! We have a makeup artist that works with us on a regular basis. She charges $30 for a senior session. She will come to the studio and stay for your entire session to make sure you are flawless for your shoot. We also know a few hair stylist that can help us out. Please let us know that you would like these services when you book your session.

Q:

How do you handle proofing?

A:

Before you leave your session, we will book your proofing session. Bringing you in to view the images on our 60 inch screen, allows you to ask questions, make changes, and select your images all at once. This is also when you will purchase your images, so be sure to bring anyone who needs to be here for the decision making.

Q:

After I order my pictures, how long will it be before they come in?

A:

The lab we work with is awesome and is super fast! Once your order is placed, your images will be here for you to pick up within a week. If there are delays due to weather or holidays, we will alert you.

Q:

Will you put all of my proofs on Facebook?

A:

Sorry, but no. We do post the images that you purchase on Facebook. They are watermarked with our logo, and we ask that you please respect our copyright and not edit the image, or crop or remove the logo. To post any image online, we need a signed model release that we will have your parent sign at the session.

Q:

What if I only want the yearbook picture?

A:

We are pretty confident that you will fall in love with way more than 1 image, but if you only want the image for the yearbook, that image counts as a pose. You must purchase the bottom package to get it. If you are purchasing a higher package, your yearbook image does count as a pose.

Q:

How do I schedule my session?

A:

You can call us at (570) 877-2829
, email us at customerservice@yourpixelperfect.com, or send us a message on Facebook.

Q:

I go to Delaware Valley. Do you travel?

A:

Yes! If you are only looking for an outdoor shoot, we will come to you, or we can meet somewhere else. In fact, we prefer it. Location shoots give us more variety between seniors and help us to make your images be different from someone else's.

Q:

Do you have a Senior Rep Program?

A:

Yes! If you are accepted into our Senior Rep Program, you receive a free rock star session, you can earn free prints and other products, just for referring us to your friends. You will also be placed in a drawing for your choice of some awesome gifts at the end of the school year. This year's choices are; a Kindle, a netbook, a digital camera, or $200 in cash!

Q:

Why should I have to pay a sitting fee?

A:

Sitting fees compensate us for the time we spend shooting, editing, proofing, and ordering your images.

Q:

How long are your sessions?

A:

We schedule an hour for a session. This gives your child or pet, time to relax and get used to us.

Q:

What if my child/pet won't sit still?

A:

We have all sorts of tricks to get the images we need. Many times one of us will simply play with the child or pet while the other one is shooting. We often hear from the mom, I can't believe you got so many. I didn't think you were going to get anything! We want your children to have fun when they are here, because we want them to come back! We want you to come back! When we get a client, we want them to love us and love our products enough to come back again and again.

Q:

What if I don't want the traditional posed images?

A:

Then you found the right photographers! We don't enjoy taking the traditional stiff images that were taken of us when we were small. The images that I love the most of my kids are of them being themselves; playing with a soccer ball, or playing with the dog, twirling in circles out in the field of hay. We have tons of ideas, so just let us know that you are open to anything and we will come up with some custom photography that you will cherish for years!

Q:

Why do I have to buy a package?

A:

Our prices are structured so that we can give you the images that you love, but we are compensated fairly for it. We will not sell you a disc of your entire session for $50. There is no way we can stay in business if we did that.

Q:

Do you do outdoor sessions?

A:

Yes! We love to shoot outdoors! Just remember that midday sun is the harshest and produces harsh shadows. We like to keep our outdoor sessions scheduled early in the day or later at night.

Q:

How do I proof my session?

A:

Before you leave your session, we will schedule a proofing session. This is where we will show you your proofs. You can make adjustments, crops, and add any changes to the finish (b&w/sepia). This is also where you will order your images, so please come prepared to pay for your prints. Bring along any decision makers.

Q:

How long does it take to get my photos after I order them?

A:

Our lab is super fast! We will have your images 1 week after your order is placed for you to pick up.

Q:

Will you come to us?

A:

Absolutely! We love location shoots! We don't charge for travel within 30 miles.

Q:

How do I make an appointment?

A:

You can call us at (570)877-2829
, email us customerservice@yourpixelperfect.com or send us a message on Facebook.

Photo Booth

Top of Page

Q:

How much room do you need?

A:

Our photo booth is 6x7 feet plus an extra 4 foot table, so 6x11 feet.

Q:

How much time do you need to set up your photo booth?

A:

It will take us less than 1 hour to set up the photo booth.

Q:

Does my photo booth rental include props or are they an extra charge like some other places?

A:

The props are included in the rental fee along with the scrapbook and attendant.

Q:

What if I want another print after the event?

A:

We set up an online password protected gallery for you and your guest to view, download for free and print or share on the web.

Q:

What is the size of the prints?

A:

Our photo booth prints are 4x6 or 2x6 strip. Most people like the 4x6 because they have larger images on them and are easier to frame.

Q:

What is idle time and why do i have to pay for it?

A:

In many cases we are asked to setup the photo booth hours before the event so we are not doing so during the reception. On some occasions we are asked to shut down during dinner and resume after dinner. Idle time is any time the photo booth is not running after it has been setup.

Q:

Why do I have to pay for idle time?

A:

The reason we charge for this is because we need to compensate ourselves for our time.

Q:

How many pictures can be taken?

A:

You and your guest can go into the photo booth as many times as you like.

Q:

Do i get a copy of all the prints?

A:

You will receive a copy of all images in your scrapbook or DVD slide show. In addition all images will be posted to an online gallery. Any R rated images will not be posted on the internet but will be available upon request by you.

Q:

Is there sales tax?

A:

Yes.

Q:

What if I want you to stay longer than the schedule time?

A:

We will stay for as long as you need us. Additional hourly charges will apply.

Q:

Is the picture booth handicap accessible?

A:

Yes.

Q:

What if something breaks?

A:

We bring backup equipment. If for some reason the backup equipment doesn't work as well then you will be given a full refund.

Q:

Are you insured?

A:

Yes, we will provide a certificate to your venue.

Q:

Why a closed booth instead of those open air ones?

A:

People act sillier in a closed picture booth and have more fun if they are not being watched.

Q:

What if the printer doesn't work?

A:

An attendant comes with the booth to insure that it runs smoothly for your event. They will be there to refill ink and paper in the printers, as well as to assist the guests in the booth.

Q:

Can I get a scrapbook and a slideshow?

A:

Yes! For an additional $100 you can have both the slideshow and the scrapbook. DVD slide show is presented on a custom printed disc and case with images from your event and disc is authored with menus and chapters. The disc artwork is designed to match your printed disc and case.

Q:

Can I bring my own props?

A:

Absolutely! We love when the host/hostess provides props! That means that they are really into it.

Q:

How many people does your booth hold?

A:

This all depends on the size of the people. We have had 12 or 13 people in the booth.

Q:

Can I get a print for everyone that goes into the booth?

A:

Unfortunately, we cannot do this at the event. Once groups start going in and we need to print 8 or 10 prints for 1 group, the printers cannot keep up with the booth. We limit the prints to 2. One for the group and one for the scrapbook. We do provide a link to your gallery where your guests can download and print as many prints as they want for free.

Q:

Can I get the prints as strips?

A:

Yes we can print 2x6 photo strips.

Q:

How do I book a booth?

A:

Simply call (570)877-2829
or email customerservice@yourpixelperfect.com to check availability and get a contract mailed to you.

Q:

What if my event is outside?

A:

Please let us know if your event is outside so we can prepare for it. We will need to bring equipment to prevent curtains from blowing and protect it from the elements. We will also need a power supply to hook into.

Q:

What sets you apart from other photo booth rentals?

A:

There are not many places in our area who rent actual booths. Please make sure you ask if it is a booth or if they just set up a backdrop and a tripod. The booth gives the experience a different feel, and allows the guests to feel secluded and they open up more.

Q:

Do you require a deposit?

A:

Yes! We require a $300 non-refundable retainer to hold your date. The balance is to be paid in full, 1 week before the event.

Q:

Why would I want a photo booth?

A:

A photo booth is the perfect party favor.

Event Photography

Q:

Do weddings fall under the event category?

A:

No, sorry but weddings are not under the event category. Weddings are a very important event so more time and work go into a wedding.

Q:

What does fall under the event category?

A:

Event would be something that would only be a few hours such as sporting events, dance recitals, birthday parties, grand openings, etc. Larger event such as a conference will need to be evaluated.

Sports and Dance Photography

Top of Page

Q:

Is this the same as an event?

A:

No, this is for posed photos of a team and/or individuals or for posed portraits of a dance school, or even a pre-school. What ever the venue it would be for posed portraits, not of an event.

Commercial Photography

Top of Page

Q:

Why is there no set rate for commercial work?

A:

Commercial work could entail just about anything, so we need to look at each job individually to determine the amount of work involved. Please call us to set up an appointment to discuss the job.
